Helical Gears
Helical Gears have high load capacity owing to longer & strong teeth and larger & longer contact surface, run smoothly and quietly. We manufacture both single and multiple segmented helical gears of up to 40 module, with the outside diameter ranging from 10mm to 8,500mm. Helical Gears are widely used in transmission because these are quieter even at higher speeds and are durable. The other applications of the helical gears are in the textile industry, blowers, rolling mills, feeders, rubber & plastic industry, sand mullers, screen, sugar industry,, food industry, elevators, conveyors, cutters, clay working machinery, compressors, cane knives and in oil refinery industry. Helical gears, with involute teeth cut at an angle to the axis of rotation, can be used to mesh two shafts that are not parallel and can also be used in a crossed gear mesh connecting two perpendicular shafts. But two mating helical gears have equal helix angles of the opposite hands. The main disadvantage of the helical gears is that these are expensive and create considerable axial thrust. However, the axial thrust can be reduced using suitable thrust bearings or double helical gears.
